NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 2, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team lost its Scenic West Athletic Conference home opener in thrilling fashion on Tuesday.
The Lady Coyotes, hosting No. 11 Salt Lake Community College, lost a 2-3 decision to the Bruins, falling by set scores of 21-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-17. The losses drop CSN to 0-3 overall and in Scenic West play.
After falling in the first two sets, CSN turned a 22-22 tie in the third set into a victory. The Lady Coyotes jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the fifth set, eventually stretching the lead to 10-7 on a
Danielle Bryson service ace. Southern Nevada would take a 14-13 match-point lead after a Jazmyn Walker service ace, but the No. 11 Bruins closed the match from there.
Jazmyne Walker and
Olivia Curtis both finished with 21 kills, while
Tehani Faitau contributed 33 assists for a CSN team that hit .244. Curtis also had a team-high 12 digs.
Southern Nevada will host the College of Southern Idaho Friday at the CSN Sports Center. The match is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
