PRICE, UT. (March 25, 2021) – The No. 13 College of Southern Nevada baseball team opened up a Scenic West Athletic Conference road series with a victory.
The Coyotes earned a strong 17-5 win over USU Eastern in the opening of a four-game series, with CSN playing in its first conference road series of the season. The win boosts Southern Nevada to 23-6 overall and 8-1 in Scenic West play.
After USU Eastern took an early lead, the Coyotes responded with a vengeance and posted nine runs in the next two innings to take a 9-4 lead entering the fourth inning. CSN's offense continued to make noise throughout the game, with the Coyotes getting home runs from
Dax Fellows,
Trey Frahm and
Johnny Cuevas.
Cuevas was 2-of-3 at the plate with a team-high four RBI's in the win to lead Southern Nevada. CSN had five players with multi-RBI games.
Austin Raleigh earned the pitching win, throwing three innings and striking out five batters.
Andrew Hauck threw a perfect four innings in relief.
Southern Nevada will play a doubleheader against USU Eastern on Friday, with a single game closing the series on Saturday.
