HENDERSON, Nev. (March 4, 2021) – The No. 18 College of Southern Nevada baseball team opened Scenic West Athletic Conference play with a strong victory Thursday.
The Coyotes earned a 7-2 win over the College of Southern Idaho at Morse Stadium, starting a four-game series off victoriously. Southern Nevada is now 16-5 overall and 1-0 in Scenic West play.
In a back-and-forth game early, CSN powered to a 4-0 lead after the fourth inning, thanks to a two-run home run by
Justin Olson.
Dax Fellows later hit a two-run double in the seventh inning to add to the advantage. Southern Nevada only had four hits in the game.
Johnny Cuevas earned the pitching victory, throwing 7.2 innings while striking out 12 CSI batters. Fellows led Southern Nevada offensively, scoring a pair of runs while going 1-of-2 at the plate.
Southern Nevada will host Southern Idaho in a Scenic West doubleheader on Friday.
