HENDERSON, Nev. (April 1, 2021) – Whatever the circumstance and whatever the situation, the No. 10 College of Southern Nevada baseball team continues to find ways to be victorious.
The Coyotes earned a 2-1 win over Salt Lake Community College to open a four-game series at home, powering forward thanks to no-hitting the Bruins in the game. With the victory, Southern Nevada moves on to 26-6 overall and 11-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
CSN jumped out offensively with momentum in the series opener, scoring a run in the first inning on a
Trey Frahm RBI single. CSN added to the advantage in the third inning, using a
Jacob Godman RBI sacrifice-fly to power to a 2-0 lead.
Pitching explained the Southern Nevada win more than anything, with
Josh Swales earning the pitching win for the Coyotes. Swales threw six innings in the win, striking out 11 SLCC batters.
Andrew Hauck threw three innings earning the save and completing the combined no-hitter.
Southern Nevada and Salt Lake will play a doubleheader at Morse Stadium Friday, with scheduled game times of 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
