No. 10 CSN Baseball swept by Salt Lake in Friday doubleheader

HENDERSON, Nev. (April 2, 2021) – Momentum is a fickle thing and the No. 10 College of Southern Nevada baseball team discovered as much Friday.

The Coyotes were swept in a home doubleheader by visiting Salt Lake Community College, losing games of 3-0 and 4-1 to fall to 1-2 in the series against the Bruins. The losses drop CSN to 26-8 overall and 11-3 in Scenic West play.

Southern Nevada and Salt Lake will conclude the series on Saturday with an 11:00 a.m. first pitch at Morse Stadium.

Salt Lake 3, Southern Nevada 0: Offense was light for the Coyotes in the first game loss.

CSN posted just two hits in the first game, with Trey Frahm going 1-of-2 and Nate Freimuth going 1-of-2. Johnny Cuevas earned the pitching loss.

Salt Lake 4, Southern Nevada 1: SLCC's timely offense downed the Coyotes in game two.

Salt Lake jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but Justin Olson fired back to hit an RBI double in the third inning to cut the CSN deficit to 2-1. Unfortunately, the Bruins posted a pair of insurance runs later.

Olson led CSN by going 2-of-3.
