HENDERSON, Nev. (April 15, 2021) – The No. 20 College of Southern Nevada baseball team powered to a victory in a non-conference game Thursday.
The Coyotes, playing against Community Christian College, earned a 12-2 win to start a four-game series. The victory lifts CSN to 29-11 overall.
Thursday's victory was also of personal significance for the CSN program, with Southern Nevada coach
Nick Garritano earning his 400th win leading the Coyotes. In his coaching career, Garritano has 716 wins, winning two Nevada state championships at Green Valley High School in his first head coaching stop.
Southern Nevada's offense was tracking early, with
John-Howard Bobo hitting a two-run home run in the first inning.
Dax Fellows later hit an RBI triple in the fourth inning, with a trio of Coyotes RBI singles powering them to scores late in the game.
Colby Smith led CSN at the plate, finishing 3-of-4, while
Jacob Godman went 2-of-4.
Johnny Cuevas was 2-of-3 at the plate.
Joey Magrisi earned the pitching victory, throwing five innings and striking out eight batters.
Southern Nevada will host Community Christian for a doubleheader on Friday.
