PRICE, UT. (April 22, 2021) – A two-match road swing did not start well for the College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team this weekend.
The Lady Coyotes lost a 3-2 decision with USU Eastern, losing on an overtime goal in the second extra-period. CSN's overall record is now 1-5, with a mark of 1-3 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
It was Southern Nevada who took the opening lead, with
Nanea Rabang posted a goal in the 14
th minute. USU Eastern later tied the match shortly before halftime, taking the lead with 75:00 on the clock. CSN scored a late goal to tie the match, thanks to
Geraldi Rivera connecting on a penalty kick. However, in the second overtime period, USU Eastern's Kallie James scored the game-winning goal.
Play at goal was outstanding for the Lady Coyotes, with CSN holding a 9-2 edge in saves after USU Eastern posted a 24-11 advantage in total shots. Rivera posted a team-high seven shots.
Southern Nevada will play a Saturday match at Colorado Northwestern on Saturday.
