HENDERSON, Nev. (April 8, 2021) – The Scenic West Athletic Conference opener for the College of Southern Nevada men's soccer team produced a tough result Thursday.
CSN fell in a 2-1 loss to in-state rival Truckee Meadows at Heritage Park, losing on a late go-ahead goal by the Silver State foe. Southern Nevada is now 0-3 overall in the young season, with a mark of 0-1 in Scenic West play.
After a scoreless first half, Truckee Meadows posted the first goal of the match in the 66
th minute. Southern Nevada was quick to respond, with
Alfredo Diaz tying the match on an
Eli Zaragosa assist in the 74
th minute. Unfortunately, TMCC earned the go-ahead goal late.
Gonzalez had a team-high three shots for CSN, with all three shots being on-goal.
Sebastian St. Jules made a team-high four saves in the match for CSN.
Southern Nevada will host nationally-ranked Salt Lake on Saturday, with a 1:00 p.m. start time at Heritage Park.
