PRICE, UT. (May 1, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada softball team finished a series split with USU Eastern on Saturday.
CSN had a 7-6 win and a 14-6 loss with the Lady Eagles, sending them to a 2-2 series split. Southern Nevada is now 30-25 overall and 20-16 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play with the results, setting up a battle for seeding in the league's upcoming tournaments.
Southern Nevada will host No. 2 Salt Lake Community College to close the season next week.

Southern Nevada took an early 2-0 lead, thanks to a
Kayley Cole RBI single to start the game.
Bailey Pepper later hit an RBI single to the game at 3-3 in the third inning, with CSN taking the lead for good in the seventh inning on a
Madelynn Kennedy RBI single.
Mayu Nishijima was a team-best 3-of-4 at the plate, with Cole going 2-of-4.
Amber Triviso earned the pitching win, throwing a complete game.
USU Eastern 14, Southern Nevada 6: A fast start didn't last for CSN in a run-rule loss.
Southern Nevada jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, with
Caitlin Covington hitting an RBI single in the first inning. From there, USU Eastern scored nine unanswered runs before
Liliana Gutierrez hit a two-run double in the sixth inning. The comeback attempt proved to be too little, too late though for CSN, as USU Eastern posted five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the game.
Kayley Cole went 3-of-4 at the plate in the loss, while
Mayu Nishijima was 2-of-3.
