RENO, Nev. (May 1, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada men's soccer team earned an impressive win in a Scenic West Athletic Conference road match with an in-state rival Saturday.
CSN prevailed in a 4-1 decision at Truckee Meadows Community College, splitting the season series in the 'Silver State' rivalry. Southern Nevada is now 3-6 overall and 3-4 in Scenic West play.
After an early Truckee Meadows goal, the Coyotes responded in the 28
th minute with a Mihreteab Tesfamaria goal to tie the match at 1-1.
Jose Gonzalez scored minutes later, thanks to an
Alfredo Diaz assist, with
Diego Gonzalez scoring in the 50
th minute. Tesfamaria posted his second goal of the day in the 59
th minute.
CSN held a narrow 15-13 edge in shots, with
Ivan Rodriguez and
Sebastian St. Jules combining for three saves in the win. Tesfamaria scored goal on both of his shots in the match.
Southern Nevada will host Snow College at Heritage Park on Saturday, May 8.
