HENDERSON, Nev. (August 22, 2021) – An NJCAA non-conference women's soccer shootout in the desert ended in a loss for the College of Southern Nevada.
 
CSN fell in a 5-3 decision to Arizona Western College, dropping a match that featured plenty of offense. The Lady Coyotes are now 0-3 with the loss.
 
Arizona Western came out firing, scoring a goal early and never looking back while building a 4-0 lead at halftime. However, Southern Nevada seized momentum early in the second half, scoring in the 47^th minute on an Annabell Olivero goal. Grace Sedillo scored for the Lady Coyotes minutes later, with Geraldi Gomez scoring in the 74^th minute to cut the deficit to 4-3. Unfortunately, Arizona Western scored a late goal to cement the road win.
 
Skyler Farrington and Gomez both posted a pair of shots-on-goal, with Gomez eventually scoring. CSN goalkeeper Shayna Thompson finished with a save in the loss.
 
Southern Nevada will host a scrimmage against Park University next weekend.
