HENDERSON, Nev. (September 2, 2021) – Play in Scenic West Athletic Conference Men's Soccer competition opened Thursday, and the College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer program opened well in a road match.
The Coyotes earned a 4-2 win over Colorado Northwestern to open league play, picking up their first win of the season. CSN is now 1-2 overall and 1-0 in Scenic West play.
It was CNCC who took the early lead, with Southern Nevada scoring in the 24
th minute on an
Eli Zaragosa goal.
Diego Gonzalez followed up with a goal minutes later, giving CSN a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The Coyotes kept the pressure on in the second half, with
Gael Del Angel-Parra scoring in the 58
th minute.
Luis Cazares scored the last CSN goal on an
Alex Perez assist.
Southern Nevada dominated the match offensively, holding a 28-10 advantage in total shots and a 12-3 edge in shots-on-goal.
Southern Nevada will play at Laramie County Community College Friday.
