HENDERSON, Nev. (September 30, 2021) – In the game of soccer, it's impressive any time a team hits double-digit numbers in goals scored.
The College of Southern Nevada Men's Soccer program has showcased its ability to score already this season, but it was nothing compared to CSN's offensive performance in a 10-0 win over Colorado Northwestern Thursday. The match at Cristo Rey St. Viator served as a reminder that Southern Nevada remains amongst the Scenic West elite. CSN is now 4-6-1 with the victory, lifting to 4-2-1 in Scenic West standings.
Bryan Martinez-Serano had the type of performance that is rarely seen in collegiate soccer, controlling the tempo of the CSN attack and powering the Coyotes to a 3-0 lead at halftime. Martinez-Serano scored the first goal in the 21
st minute, scoring again in the 25
th minute. Jose Gonazlez was the other CSN goalscorer in the first half.
Riding a 3-0 lead at halftime, Southern Nevada came out with sharp focus, and it showed when
Alfredo Diaz scored just 93 seconds into the second half. Martinez-Serano then scored four straight goals, prior to
Serek Christensen scoring in the 75
th minute to change the CSN pace. Jose Sixto-Sanchez also scored a goal in the second half.
CSN held a 37-2 edge over Colorado Northwestern in shots, with CNCC also making 11 saves in the loss. Martinez-Serano took a team-high 11 shots.
