HENDERSON, Nev. (January 12, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Athletic Department has a busy week ahead of it.

Men's Basketball: Southern Nevada will play a split weekend of games, traveling to play at Snow College on Thursday and then hosting a game against USU Eastern on Saturday.

To this point in the season, CSN is 3-3 in Scenic West play, with a mark of 0-1 against USU Eastern to this point in the season. Southern Nevada will have split weekends of home-and-away competition throughout January.

Women's Basketball: The Lady Coyotes will start the week on the road playing a longtime Scenic West contender, then will return home to face a Scenic West upstart.

Southern Nevada will travel to play at Snow College on Thursday, with the Lady Badgers riding high in the Scenic West standings. CSN will then return to host USU Eastern on Saturday.

Lady Coyotes coach Dan Savage said his team is aware of the challenges they face this week.

"This is our first time playing Snow and we look forward to getting a few of our key players back from some health issues," he said. "These two teams (Snow and USU Eastern) are currently in the middle of our league and these games will let us know if

we have done enough thus far to compete."

Besides working through the traditional rigors of playing a college schedule, CSN is also managing the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic through college sports. In the rigors of managing that, Savage said his team is working to control as much as

they can throughout the stress.

"It has been a real challenge this year, in part due to the issues that come with getting test results back," he said. "Some players have missed multiple games and we have been trying to remind them that our health comes first. Our goal has always been

to be playing our best basketball when the playoffs arrive.  These setbacks have been frustrating, but we are still capable of hitting our stride at the most important part of the season and the players know that."
