HENDERSON, Nev. (November 17, 2022) – 'Dominating' would be a superb adjective to use to describe the play of the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team Thursday.
CSN posted a 72-40 win over Phoenix College to open the 'Coyote Classic' tournament, holding a 38-16 lead at halftime and never looking back. The Lady Coyotes are now 2-0.
Southern Nevada's defense was suffocating, holding Phoenix to just 28.6 percent shooting and only 4-of-15 shooting from three-point range. CSN also forced 26 Phoenix turnovers. Phoenix never led in the game.
Paige Grant and Aaliyah Ibarra both scored 11 points to lead Southern Nevada. Lesieli Manupule scored 9 points off-the-bench.
The Lady Coyotes will continue play in the tournament on Friday, facing off against Arizona Western College at 7:00 p.m. inside the Coyote Event Center.
