HENDERSON, Nev. (December 20, 2022) – There is no feeling like playing college basketball at home over the holidays.
While Perry Como may not have sang those exact lyrics, the vibes are the same for the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team this week as the Lady Coyotes host the ''College of Southern Nevada Holiday Basketball Invitational, presented by Canner Casino Hotel'. CSN moved to 2-0 in its home tournament with an impressive win Tuesday, posting a 64-57 win over Dawson Community College.
Southern Nevada held a 30-26 halftime lead, with neither team leading by more than eight points throughout the game. Defense was CSN's calling card, with the Lady Coyotes forcing 27 turnovers and scoring 15 points off those turnovers.
Aaliyah Ibarra posted 15 points in the win, while Jordan Stroud had 9 points.
Emily Backus finished with 8 points.
The Dawson win boosts the Lady Coyotes to 4-6 overall. Southern Nevada will conclude the tournament with a game against Central Arizona on Wednesday.
