HENDERSON, Nev. (December 3, 2022) – A highly-touted Scenic West Athletic Conference opener against No. 16 Snow College disappointingly did not go the way of the College of Southern Nevada Men's Basketball team Friday.
The Coyotes unfortunately couldn't change the narrative of that script in a rematch on Saturday, posting an 87-78 loss to the Badgers to move to 0-2 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. Southern Nevada is now 5-8 overall.
In a game where neither team led by more than 12 points, Snow took a 42-38 lead at halftime. CSN had a strong performance from three-point range in the first half, going 6-of-11 from distance as they held leads during part of the first half. The Badgers came battling back in the second half though, outscoring CSN 45-40 on the way to a win.
Southern Nevada had 20 turnovers in the loss, with Snow scoring 25 points off those turnovers.
Kendrick Gilbert led the Coyotes with 19 points, while
Max Topham had 18 points.
Anthony Swift finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while
Darren Jones posted 12 points and 10 rebounds.
CSN will host Southern Idaho in a Scenic West home game
next Saturday. The game is scheduled to tip off
at 3:00 p.m. inside the Coyote Event Center.
