HENDERSON, Nev. (March 10, 2022) – A change of scenery may have been just what the doctor ordered for the College of Southern Nevada Baseball team.
The Coyotes, after being swept at Salt Lake to open Scenic West Athletic Conference play, were scheduled to head out on the road again to Southern Idaho. However, a change of schedule brought the four-game series home to Morse Stadium and with it a fresh breath of momentum that culminated in a 5-2 win over the Golden Eagles on Thursday. The victory lifts CSN to 9-11 overall and 1-4 in Scenic West play.
Southern Idaho posted a pair of runs in the first inning, then a prolonged scoreless drought kept going forward until CSN posted five runs in the eighth inning to earn the win. The Coyotes scored runs in the eighth inning in a variety of fashions, scoring a pair of unearned runs and then taking a lead on a
Mayze Mosher RBI single. Mosher eventually scored on a
Sayer Diederich RBI sacrifice fly.
Zach Culver went 2-of-4 at the plate for CSN, while
Gavin Amelburu posted a 2-of-3 mark at the plate. Brennan Holligan earned the pitching win in relief, with
Kris Bow earning the save.
Southern Nevada and Southern Idaho will play a doubleheader Friday.
