HENDERSON, Nev. (March 12, 2022) – A series-finale ended in victory for the College of Southern Nevada Baseball team Saturday.
The Coyotes earned a 6-3 win over the College of Southern Idaho on Saturday, closing a four-game series with a 3-1 record. Southern Nevada is now 11-12 overall and 3-5 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play with the win.
Jackson Castillo hit a solo home run to get CSN on the board in the third inning, with Southern Idaho responding by scoring three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. CSN came right back in the sixth inning, with Zachary Culver hitting a two-run single to tie the game at 3-3.
Austin Cates then hit an RBI single in the eighth inning for the go-ahead run, followed up by a two-run Castillo single.
Castillo led CSN at the plate with a 2-of-4 performance that also featured a trio of RBI's. CSN reliever
Garrett Maloney earned the pitching win, throwing a scoreless inning in relief.
Southern Nevada will return to Morse Stadium next weekend, hosting a four-game series with Community Christian College.
