HENDERSON, Nev. (March 17, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Baseball team kept its recent momentum flowing, opening a four-game Scenic West Athletic Conference series with a strong win.
 
CSN posted a 5-1 win over Community Christian College Thursday at Morse Stadium, winning a pitchers' duel. The victory lifts the Coyotes to 12-12 overall, with a mark of 4-5 in Scenic West play.
 
Early runs boosted the Coyotes to the victory, with 
Jackson Castillo hitting a sacrifice fly RBI to move CSN to a 1-0 lead in the third inning. CSN added a pair of runs in the fourth inning, thanks to RBI singles from both 
Mayze Mosher and 
Zach Culver. Southern Nevada added a pair of unearned runs in the seventh inning.
 
Ikaika Ganancial and 
Cade Kalehuawehe both led CSN at the plate, finishing 2-of-3. Devin Contreras, Jr., earned the pitching victory, posting six strikeouts. 
 
Southern Nevada and Community Christian will play a doubleheader on Friday at Morse Stadium, with the first game scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start.
