HENDERSON, Nev. (March 18, 2022) - A Scenic West Athletic Conference home doubleheader went the way of the College of Southern Nevada Softball team Friday, in almost every way.

The Lady Coyotes, hosting Snow College in a doubleheader, won decisions of 15-5 and 14-4 to the Lady Badgers. The wins boosted CSN to 9-11 overall and 6-4 in Scenic West games.

Southern Nevada and Snow College will play another doubleheader Saturday, with games scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start at Lady Coyote Softball Field.

Southern Nevada 14, Snow 4: A nine-run second inning boosted the Lady Coyotes to a victory.

Kenley Cole hit a three-run home run in the second inning, followed up by
Caitlin Covington hitting a two-run home run later in the inning. CSN's offense was so efficient in the inning that Cole hit a two-run single later in the frame.
Taylor Hendricks later hit a two-run home run in the third inning.

Cole was a perfect 4-of-4 at the plate, posting five RBI's. Covington and
Liliana Gutierrez both went 2-of-3, while
Jocelyn Shupp was 2-of-4.Â

Laynee Anzalone earned the win, allowing just three hits in five innings while also posting four strikeouts.Â

Southern Nevada 15, Snow 5: Extra-base hits propelled CSN to a victory in the day's second game.

Liliana Gutierrez hit a grand-slam home run in the second inning, lifting CSN to a 5-3 lead it never relinquished. Other key hits included a two-run
Kaitlyn Suarez triple in the third inning, followed up by a Kenley Cole home run in the fourth inning.
Jocelyn Shupp also added a two-run triple.

Caitlin Covington was a perfect 4-of-4 in the win.
Codilyn Olds earned the pitching victory, posting three strikeouts in the circle.Â
