HENDERSON, Nev. (March 24, 2022) – The early bumps for the College of Southern Nevada Baseball team seem like a distant memory at this point.
Opening a four-game series at Colorado Northwestern on Thursday, the Coyotes powered to their seventh consecutive victory in an 18-5 win over the Spartans. CSN is now 16-12 overall and 8-5 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games.
The Coyotes were relentless from the first pitch, with
Gavin Amelburu scoring on a wild pitch to open the game.
Jackson Castillo then hit a grand-slam home run in the second inning, helping lift CSN to a 6-0 run. Castillo also added an RBI double in the third inning, alongside Amelburu posting a solo home run in the sixth inning. Castillo also hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.
Castillo went 3-of-4 in the game, posting six RBI's. CSN had six players with multi-hit games, with the Coyotes posting 15 hits in the win.
Brennen Holligan earned the pitching win, throwing five innings in relief and allowing just two hits.
Southern Nevada and Colorado Northwestern will play a doubleheader on Friday.
