HENDERSON, Nev. (March 26, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Baseball team closed out another Scenic West Athletic Conference series with a surprising loss Saturday.
CSN fell in a 14-8 loss to Colorado Northwestern Community College, breaking a nine-game winning streak. The Coyotes are now 18-13 overall, with a mark of 10-6 in Scenic West play.
Southern Nevada jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, with
Austin Cates hitting an RBI single in the first inning. The lead was upped to 6-1 at the end of the third inning, with a
Jackson Castillo RBI single punctuating the rally. CNCC went on a scoring rally from there, posting eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the victory.
Castillo went 2-of-3 at the plate, along with a pair of walks. CSN's pitching staff surrendered 11 hits in the loss.
Southern Nevada will return home for a four-game series with USU Eastern next weekend.
