HENDERSON, Nev. (March 31, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Baseball team had a strong opening to a Scenic West Athletic Conference opener.
CSN picked up a 9-1 win over USU Eastern Thursday, opening a four-game series at Morse Stadium in impressive fashion. The victory lifts the Coyotes to 19-13 overall and 11-6 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games.
Southern Nevada wasted no time in the game as
Mayze Mosher hit a two-run home run in the first inning to give the Coyotes an early 2-0 lead. CSN scored a pair of unearned runs in the third inning, followed up by scoring another unearned run in the fourth inning to build the lead to 5-0.
Ikaika Ganancial then hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to provide one more highlight play for the Coyotes.
Mosher was 2-of-3 with a pair of RBI's to lead CSN.
Brennen Holligan earned the pitching win in relief, throwing five innings and finishing with seven strikeouts.
Southern Nevada and USU Eastern will play a doubleheader on Friday.
