HENDERSON, Nev. (April 2, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Baseball team picked up a series-ending victory on Saturday at home.
Facing off against USU Eastern, the Coyotes earned a 6-1 win over USU Eastern to move to 3-1 in the series against the Eagles. Southern Nevada is now 21-14 overall and 13-7 in Scenic West games.
CSN started their scoring in an unearned fashion, with
Jackson Castillo scoring on a fielding error in the third inning.
Ikaika Ganancial added an RBI groundout later in the frame. Castillo also hit a solo home run in the eighth inning, with
Austin Cates adding a two-run triple later in the inning.
Mayze Mosher went 3-of-4 in the game, with Cates posting a pair of RBI's.
Jesus Gonzalez earned the pitching win, throwing six innings and finishing with seven strikeouts.
Southern Nevada will host Scenic West leader Salt Lake next week in a four-game series at Morse Stadium. The series will open on Thursday.
