HENDERSON, Nev. (April 9, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Baseball team picked up its first win over the Scenic West Athletic Conference leader on Friday.
CSN split a home doubleheader with No. 13 Salt Lake Community College, falling 5-0 in the first game before earning an 11-1 win in the day's second game. The Coyotes are now 22-16 overall and 14-9 in Scenic West games.
Southern Nevada and Salt Lake will finish the series on Saturday in a single game at Morse Stadium. First pitch for the game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
Salt Lake 5, Southern Nevada 0: It was all Salt Lake in the first game, in spite of CSN posting six hits.
The Salt Lake pitching staff scattered six hits over seven innings, with only
Bradley Stone finishing with a multi-hit game.
Brennen Holligan took the pitching loss.
Southern Nevada 11, Salt Lake 1: The Coyotes utilized a trio of SLCC errors to earn the run-rule victory.
Gavin Amelburu hit an RBI single in the first inning to start the CSN offense, with Southern Nevada posting six runs in the inning.
John-Howard Bobo later hit a two-run single in the fourth inning.
Bobo was a perfect 3-of-3 at the plate, also finishing with 5 RBI's.
Josh Johnson threw 3.2 innings and earned the pitching win, posting four strikeouts.
