PRICE, UT. (May 6, 2022) – The College of Southern Nevada Baseball team swept a Friday doubleheader in central Utah.
CSN won a pair of Scenic West Athletic Conference games with USU Eastern, earning wins of 7-1 and 5-0. The day's split action set Southern Nevada at 34-20 overall and 26-13 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play with just a single day remaining in the Spring 2022 regular season.
The Coyotes and Eagles will play the series finale on Saturday.
Southern Nevada 7, USU Eastern 1: A mix of extra-base hits lifted the Coyotes to a victory in the day's first game.
CSN scored early-and-often, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Coyotes then added a pair of runs in the third inning, with
Jackson Castillo hitting an RBI double in the sixth inning to up the advantage to 4-1.
Bradley Stone capped off the scoring with an RBI double in the sixth inning.
Stone went 3-of-4 at the plate to lead Southern Nevada's offense, which posted 12 hits.
Kris Bow earned the pitching win, throwing 4.1 innings.
Southern Nevada 5, USU Eastern 0: A dominant pitching performance helped the Coyotes to a win.
Mayze Mosher hit an RBI single in the second inning, followed up by
Bradley Stone hitting an RBI double in the third inning to up CSN's lead to 3-0. Mosher then added an RBI triple in the seventh inning.
Mosher went 2-of-3 at the plate to lead CSN.
Brennen Holligan earned the pitching win, throwing 3.2 innings and finishing with six strikeouts.
