Salt Lake Community College Dominates College of Southern Nevada in Straight Sets

North Las Vegas, NV - October 14, 2023

In an exciting volleyball showdown, Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) showcased their dominance by defeating the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) in straight sets at a match held in North Las Vegas, Nevada. With this victory, SLCC solidified their position as a formidable force in the league.

The final scores of the three sets were 25-19, 25-8, and 25-16, all in favor of SLCC.

From the outset, SLCC demonstrated their superiority, claiming the first set 25-19. Fuka Kikuchi played a crucial role in this set, contributing seven kills and seven aces. Tessa Treanor was equally impressive with eight kills and five aces. Brinlie Crosbie played a key role as the setter, amassing 17 assists during the match.

The second set was even more one-sided, with SLCC prevailing 25-8. Their powerful attacking game and solid defense left CSN struggling to keep up. SLCC's Julia Oberg and Brenley Hansen were instrumental in maintaining the momentum with solid plays throughout the set.

The third and final set concluded with a score of 25-16, securing SLCC's clean sweep of the match. Despite CSN's efforts to stage a comeback, SLCC's consistent and well-coordinated play proved too much to handle.

CSN had a challenging day, with Olivia Arroyo, Jaquelyn Robinson, and Breyana Bosket leading their offensive efforts. However, SLCC's strong defensive line and efficient blocking made it difficult for CSN to gain any significant advantage.

Sydnie Tuioti-Mariner, SLCC's setter, displayed excellent skills in ball distribution, tallying 12 assists. The SLCC team's combined efforts in serving, blocking, and digging showcased their overall strength as a unit.

With this victory, Salt Lake Community College maintained their impressive record, improving to 19-5 for the season and remaining undefeated in conference play at 7-0. On the other hand, College of Southern Nevada dropped to 6-12 overall and 1-6 in conference matches.
