HENDERSON, Nev. (May 11, 2023) – Winning matters, and to the victor goes the spoils of postseason recognition in college baseball.
The No. 15 Southern Nevada Baseball team learned this lesson well, winning the Scenic West Athletic Conference regular-season title and earning several high-profile awards in this week's All-Region 18 awards list. Southern Nevada had three players earn individual honors –
Hunter Katschke (Player-of-the-Year); Nicky Garritano (Defensive Player-of-the-Year); and
Carson Bonus (Relief Pitcher-of-the-Year).

Nick Garritano also was named 'Region 18 Coach-of-the-Year). Southern Idaho pitcher Josh Trentadue was the Region 18 'Pitcher-of-the-Year'.
A Las Vegas native, Katschke hit .403 during the season, hitting 14 home runs and 64 RBI's. He also scored 63 runs. As a freshman from Green Valley, Garritano had a fielding percentage of .987, finishing with 70 putouts. Bonus finished the year with an ERA of 3.48, posting six saves and throwing 21 strikeouts.
