College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball Team Wins Two Consecutive Games Against Yavapai College

Prescott, AZ - January 11, 2024

The College of Southern Nevada women's basketball team secured two impressive victories against Yavapai College in back-to-back games on January 8th and 9th, 2024, in Prescott, Arizona.

Game 1: January 8th, 2024

The first game between the College of Southern Nevada and Yavapai College was a thrilling basketball showdown that left fans on the edge of their seats.

The College of Southern Nevada started the game with determination, taking an early lead in the first quarter with a score of 23-18. Aaliyah Ibarra was instrumental in the team's success, showcasing her scoring prowess with a remarkable 38-point performance. Her nine three-pointers were nothing short of spectacular, and she constantly kept Yavapai College's defense on their toes. Layla Faught complemented Ibarra's performance with 19 points, making a significant impact from beyond the arc.

Keyna Hadley and Leah Mitchell provided valuable support, combining for 28 points and contributing to the team's balanced offense. Paige Grant also played a crucial role, securing an impressive 11 rebounds and anchoring the team's defensive efforts.

On the Yavapai College side, Olivia Arvallo was their leading scorer with an outstanding 27-point performance. Her six three-pointers added excitement to the game and kept Yavapai College in the hunt. Kishyah Anderson contributed 24 points, showcasing her scoring ability and versatility on the court. Despite their efforts, Yavapai College faced a formidable opponent in the College of Southern Nevada, who showcased excellent teamwork and ball movement throughout the game.

Game 2: January 9th, 2024

The second matchup between the College of Southern Nevada and Yavapai College, continued to deliver thrilling basketball action. With Southern Nevada aiming to maintain their winning streak and Yavapai College seeking redemption, the stage was set for another exciting contest.

Southern Nevada once again came out strong in the first quarter, taking an early lead with a score of 23-13. Aaliyah Ibarra, the standout player from the previous game, continued her impressive form with 27 points, proving to be a consistent scoring threat. Layla Faught, Leah Mitchell, Keyna Hadley, and Paige Grant all played pivotal roles in securing their team's victory.

Yavapai College, determined to turn the tide, saw Kishyah Anderson lead the charge with 21 points, showcasing her scoring ability and court vision with 8 assists. Olivia Arvallo contributed 16 points and continued to display her three-point shooting prowess. Despite a spirited effort in the second game, Yavapai College couldn't overcome Southern Nevada's well-rounded performance.

The College of Southern Nevada women's basketball team demonstrated their resilience and adaptability in both games, with impressive teamwork and individual performances.
