North Idaho College Survives Thriller, Edging Out College of Southern Nevada 83-82 in Overtime

In a nail-biting showdown at the Coyote Event Center, North Idaho College narrowly escaped with a thrilling 83-82 victory over the College of Southern Nevada in an overtime clash on Thursday night.

The game lived up to its expectations as North Idaho College (NIC) improved their record to 15-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play, while the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) fell to 2-15 overall and 0-5 in conference action.

The contest was a rollercoaster ride from the opening tip-off. CSN held a slight one-point lead at halftime, 35-34, with both teams showcasing their offensive prowess. Dante Sawyer led the way for NIC, scoring 14 points in the first half, while Jhadon Banks paced CSN with 12 points.

The second half continued to be a back-and-forth battle, with lead changes and ties keeping fans on the edge of their seats. NIC managed to pull ahead by 8 points at one point in the game, but CSN mounted a comeback to tie it up at 74-74 at the end of regulation.

Overtime was no less dramatic as both teams traded blows. Dante Sawyer, who had a remarkable night, led NIC with crucial baskets and free throws. Jhadon Banks of CSN matched him shot for shot. In the end, it was Dante Sawyer's 33 points that proved to be the difference-maker for NIC.

Jalen Skalskiy, Vaughn Weems, and Terin Johnson also played pivotal roles for NIC. Skalskiy contributed 15 points and nine rebounds, while Weems posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Terin Johnson came off the bench to add 14 points to the team's total.

On the CSN side, Jhadon Banks led the way with 29 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Samuel Steele-Wiliams provided valuable support with 12 points and a game-high 10 assists. LeRon Wright also chipped in with 12 points.
