The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team faced a tough challenge against Arizona Western College, falling in straight sets (8-25, 15-25, 10-25) in a challenging road matchup. Despite moments of individual success, the Coyotes struggled to find a consistent rhythm against the highly efficient Arizona Western offense, which finished the match with a .508 hitting percentage.
Southern Nevada's effort was highlighted by Margaret Sharkey, who led the Coyotes with a strong performance, recording 6 kills on 9 attempts with a .667 hitting percentage. Aleyson Ross contributed 3 kills and 2 service aces, while Sydney Hall and Jeannie Anderson worked tirelessly at the net, but Arizona Western's depth and precision proved too much.
Arizona Western took command from the outset, hitting an impressive .647 in the first set with 11 kills and no errors, winning 25-8. The Coyotes worked to respond, but Arizona Western's Esther Asiedu and Larrynn Joseph-Rodrigues led a dominant attack, with Joseph-Rodrigues finishing with a match-high 9 kills and Asiedu contributing 7 kills at a .778 clip.
In the second set, CSN managed to rally and increase their points tally to 15, with Ross providing 2 service aces and Sharkey adding timely kills. Despite this effort, Arizona Western's aggressive play and minimal errors kept them in control, closing out the set 25-15.
The third set saw Arizona Western maintain their consistency, hitting .450 with 9 kills and zero errors. The Coyotes were unable to build momentum, falling 25-10 as Arizona Western wrapped up the sweep.
