Henderson, NV - The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Lady Coyotes experienced a challenging doubleheader against Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) on March 29, 2024, at Lady Coyote Field in Henderson, NV. Despite their efforts, CSN faced defeats in both games.
In the first game, SLCC dominated with a final score of 15-2. The Lady Bruins quickly took control in the early innings, scoring 4 runs in the first and adding 2 more in the second. They continued to extend their lead with 3 runs in the third, 2 in the fourth, and 4 in the fifth inning. CSN struggled to generate offense, managing only 2 runs in the fifth inning. SLCC's S. Jones delivered a standout performance, hitting a home run and collecting 5 RBIs. A. Shaver also contributed significantly with a home run and 3 RBIs. Despite the loss, CSN's Camryn Hunkins and Shelbie Hoyt showed resilience with solid hits and base running.
In the second game, SLCC once again showcased their offensive prowess, securing a 12-2 victory over CSN. The Lady Bruins got off to a strong start, scoring 1 run in the first inning and exploding for 9 runs in the third inning. CSN managed to score 2 runs in the fourth inning but couldn't overcome SLCC's lead. M. Mansfield led SLCC with 4 RBIs, including a home run. A. Shaver added to the offensive onslaught with a home run and 2 RBIs. Despite the loss, CSN's Sierra. McLean and Amber Sage contributed with hits and RBIs.
