Ephraim, Utah – April 13, 2024 – The College of Southern Nevada's softball team faced a challenging afternoon against Snow College, falling 11-1 in a game that ended after five innings due to the mercy rule. The matchup, which took place at SC Softball Complex in Ephraim, Utah, saw the home team capitalize on a powerful display of hitting.
The Coyotes of Southern Nevada struggled to contain Snow College's bats, which erupted for multiple home runs and extra-base hits. Snow College's lineup was relentless from the start, with H. Walker hitting a two-run homer in the first inning. The barrage continued in the second inning with four more runs, including another home run by H. Young and a flurry of hits that extended their lead.
College of Southern Nevada's sole run came in the second inning when Shelbie Hoyt executed a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Amber Sage to score. Despite this effort, CSN could not rally back into the game. Snow College's pitcher, S. Ewing, dominated the mound, striking out six and allowing just one run over five innings, improving her season record to 12-4.
CSN's starting pitcher, Alivia Parks, faced a tough outing, surrendering seven runs on nine hits over just two innings before being relieved by London Lamb, who also struggled against the aggressive Snow College hitters.
