Henderson, NV-  In a high-scoring and action-packed game, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) softball team faced a tough defeat against Utah State Eastern at Lady Coyote Field. The final scoreline read 17-8 in favor of Utah State Eastern, marking a challenging day for CSN.

The game started off with both teams showing defensive prowess in the opening inning. CSN's pitcher, London Lamb, and Utah State Eastern's B. Johnson kept the scoreline at bay initially, with neither team able to break through in the first inning.

However, the second inning saw the first run of the game, with Utah State Eastern putting a run on the board. CSN quickly responded in the bottom of the inning, matching the score 1-1.

The third inning turned out to be the turning point of the game. Utah State Eastern's offense exploded, tallying an impressive eight runs in the inning. CSN struggled to contain the offensive onslaught, resulting in a significant lead for Utah State Eastern.

Despite the deficit, CSN showed resilience in the latter part of the game. They managed to score three runs in the fifth inning, showing signs of a potential comeback. However, Utah State Eastern's strong performance earlier in the game proved to be insurmountable.

Offensively, CSN had notable performances from Sierra McLean, who recorded two RBIs, and Mayelli Elicerio, who contributed with two RBIs as well. Shelbie Hoyt and Leimamo Arruda also had impactful moments at the plate for CSN.

On the defensive side, CSN faced challenges containing Utah State Eastern's aggressive batting lineup. Pitchers London Lamb and Amber Sage worked hard but struggled against Utah State Eastern's relentless hitting.

Despite the loss, CSN showcased determination and fighting spirit throughout the game. With lessons learned from this matchup, they aim to bounce back stronger in their upcoming games.
