Coyotes Dominate Saints in Record-Setting Victory

North Las Vegas, NV- The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Coyotes delivered an unforgettable performance at the Coyote Event Center on January 22, 2025, crushing the Community Christian College Saints with a staggering score of 158-68. This historic win underscores the Coyotes' formidable presence in the league as they improved to an impressive 11-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

From the opening tip-off, the Coyotes unleashed a barrage of points, ending the first half with a commanding 79-39 lead. LeRone Wright, the standout star for CSN, was virtually unstoppable, scoring 29 of his game-high 42 points in the first half alone. His sharpshooting from beyond the arc (8-12 3PT) kept the crowd roaring and the Saints on their heels throughout the game. Wright's 42 points not only electrified the crowd but also set a new single-game scoring record for CSN Men's Basketball, a milestone that will be remembered in the program's history.

The Coyotes' offensive efficiency was through the roof, with the team shooting an incredible 70.5% from the field and 52% from three-point range. This offensive juggernaut was supported by flawless teamwork and crisp passing, leading to 46 assists, a season-high for the team.

CSN's victory was a full team effort. Besides Wright's spectacular scoring, David Estes and Chase Jackson added significant firepower, contributing 33 and 14 points, respectively. Estes was also a force on the defensive end, grabbing 10 rebounds alongside his scoring output. The bench played a pivotal role too, contributing 75 points to the massive win, showcasing the depth and talent of the Coyotes' roster.

Kadyn Koch and A'lyjah Conway-Wilson, although not high scorers, orchestrated the offense beautifully, combining for 14 assists and setting up their teammates for easy baskets, which expanded the lead and demoralized the opposition.

On the defensive front, CSN was just as impressive. The Coyotes capitalized on the Saints' turnovers, scoring 27 points off turnovers. They also dominated inside the paint with 104 points, underscoring their physical supremacy in the matchup. The defensive strategy was clear; pressure the Saints into low-percentage shots, which resulted in Community Christian shooting only 30.5% from the field.

The night was historic not only for the record score but also for the atmosphere in the Coyote Event Center. The home crowd was witness to perhaps one of the most dominant displays of basketball prowess in CSN's history. The 90-point margin of victory and Wright's record-setting performance left fans and players alike in awe of the team's potential as they head deeper into the season.

As the CSN Coyotes continue their campaign, this game will stand as a testament to their strength and teamwork. The Saints, while outplayed, showed moments of resilience, but the night undoubtedly belonged to the Coyotes, who look poised to make a deep run in the upcoming playoffs.

With this monumental win, the Coyotes have set a high standard for themselves and their opponents. The next games on the schedule will be crucial as they aim to maintain this level of excellence and secure a top spot in the conference standings. If they continue to play with the same intensity and execution seen tonight, the CSN Coyotes will be a formidable opponent for any team.
