Coyotes Secure Series Sweep Over Dawgs with 6-4 Victory in Finale

HENDERSON, NV — The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes completed a four-game sweep over the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs with a 6-4 win on Wednesday at Morse Stadium. This victory marked a strong finish to the series, improving the Coyotes' impressive record to 15-3 for the season.

Mayson Reichartz picked up his second win of the season, delivering crucial innings in relief for the Coyotes, who utilized a combination of four pitchers to maintain control throughout the game. Despite a late surge from the Dawgs, the Coyotes held on to their lead with disciplined pitching and defense.

The game remained scoreless until the third inning when the Coyotes broke the deadlock. Roy Durham's triple followed by Anthon Marnell IV's sacrifice fly brought the first run home. The momentum continued in the fourth and fifth innings, where the Coyotes extended their lead, capitalizing on fielding errors and strategic hitting.

The Dawgs attempted a comeback in the sixth inning, scoring three runs to narrow the gap to 4-3. Owen Lucas and Tetsu Nishida were instrumental, with Lucas driving in a run and Nishida adding another with his speedy base running. However, their efforts were not enough to overturn the Coyotes' early lead.

In response, the Coyotes expanded their lead in the bottom of the sixth with two more runs, thanks to a walk by Kaiden Smaka who later scored on a fielder's choice, and Jake Gorrell, who crossed the plate on Roy Durham's sacrifice fly.

The game concluded with the Coyotes' bullpen shutting down any further attempts at a rally by the Dawgs. Joseph Bews stepped in to close the game, ensuring the Coyotes walked away with a clean sweep of the series.

With this series win, the Coyotes continue to build momentum as they look ahead to the remaining schedule, where they aim to maintain their standing as one of the top teams in the league.
