Palm Springs, CA — The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes showcased their offensive prowess in a commanding 13-3 victory over the Community Christian College Saints on Friday, marking a dominant start to their three-game ACCAC conference series. The win at Palm Springs improves CSN's record to 16-3 overall and 10-3 in conference play.
The Coyotes set the tone early, erupting for four runs in the opening inning. Leadoff man Alex Rhynes sparked the rally with a single, followed by Chaz McNelis's RBI triple. The inning's highlight was a two-run homer by Tyler Garritano, which sailed over the left-center wall, cementing CSN's early dominance. Anthony Marnell IV also contributed significantly, going 4-for-4, including a double and three RBIs, continuously thwarting the Saints' pitchers throughout the game.
CSN's offensive onslaught continued with two more runs in the second inning, courtesy of Miller Durham's RBI triple and another RBI single from Anthony Marnell IV. By the end of the third inning, the Coyotes had stretched their lead to 8-0, a mountain too high for the Saints to climb.
On the mound, starter Logan Smith tossed three scoreless innings, allowing just three hits before handing the ball to Jaxon Reiser, who navigated through some trouble in his two innings but still earned the win. Blake Uribe closed the game with two solid innings, striking out four.
The Saints struggled to find their rhythm against the Coyotes' aggressive pitching and defense. Their only notable rally came in the fourth inning when they scored two runs, including one driven home by a groundout from D. Rinebolt. However, the deficit proved insurmountable.
CSN's depth was on full display as their lineup saw contributions from nearly every slot. Jack Wheatley and Kaiden. Smaka each added two RBIs, with Evan. Festa hitting a crucial double in the sixth to keep the pressure on.
This game not only emphasized CSN's offensive depth but also highlighted their strategic execution and resilience in conference play. With two more games to go in the series, the Coyotes look poised to continue their winning ways, while the Saints are left searching for answers to turn around their 1-13 season.
