Coyotes Overwhelmed by Gila Monsters in Dominant ACCAC Showdown

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV – The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes suffered a tough defeat on their home court Wednesday evening, falling 89-54 to the Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters in an ACCAC conference game. The loss brings CSN's season record to 14-10 overall and 9-8 in conference play.

From the opening tip-off, the Gila Monsters took control of the game, establishing a 39-26 lead by halftime and never looking back. Their aggressive play continued in the second half, where they outscored the Coyotes 50-28, showcasing their depth and offensive strength.

Eastern Arizona's balanced attack was on full display, with Tarrance Warren leading the way, scoring 13 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Kaden Ericksen and JT Elder each contributed 12 points, helping to secure the win. The Gila Monsters' bench was also pivotal, outscoring CSN's reserves 38-13.

For CSN, Cyril Franklin Jr. was a lone bright spot, scoring 21 points and attempting to rally his team. However, the Coyotes struggled to find consistent scoring options beyond Franklin. Chase Jackson added 8 points and secured 12 rebounds, but it was not enough to combat the efficient shooting and strong defensive play from Eastern Arizona.

Eastern Arizona excelled in all facets of the game, shooting 46.5% from the field and 43.5% from beyond the arc, while CSN only managed 26.1% shooting overall and a paltry 10.5% from three-point range. The Gila Monsters also dominated inside, scoring 36 points in the paint and securing 22 second-chance points off rebounds.

The Coyotes will look to regroup and bounce back in their next game as they host Arizona Western College on Saturday, March 1st. With the postseason approaching, every game becomes crucial for CSN as they aim to improve their standings in the ACCAC.
