NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV – In a challenging ACCAC matchup, the College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes fell to the Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters with a final score of 72-50 on Wednsday evening. The loss moves CSN's season record to 20-9 overall and 10-7 in conference play.
The game started competitively with CSN trailing by only two points at the end of the first quarter, but Eastern Arizona gradually built a robust lead, outscoring the Lady Coyotes in every subsequent quarter. Despite a spirited effort, CSN could not close the gap, with Eastern Arizona's consistent offense and tight defense proving too much to overcome.
Ashlynn Chlarson was a standout player for Eastern Arizona, leading all scorers with 20 points and dominating the boards with 14 rebounds, contributing significantly to her team's victory. Trinity Mayer also made notable contributions off the bench, adding 12 points, which included crucial free throws and a pair of three-pointers.
For CSN, Saroiya Ajomale fought valiantly, scoring 14 points and grabbing six rebounds, but struggled with shooting efficiency throughout the game. The Lady Coyotes faced difficulties in finding their rhythm offensively, shooting only 25.5% from the field compared to the Gila Monsters' 33.3%.
The Gila Monsters excelled in free throw accuracy, shooting an impressive 87% from the line, which played a critical role in extending their lead, especially during the final quarters. Their bench also outperformed CSN's, contributing 34 points to the Lady Coyotes' 14.
