Yuma, AZ — The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Arizona Western College Matadors in the opening game of their four-game series in ACCAC conference play on Friday afternoon. With this win, CSN extends its remarkable undefeated streak in conference play to 9-0 and improves its overall season record to 13-9.
Mckenna Cahoon, pitching for CSN, claimed her first win of the season in a stellar performance that saw her allow three earned runs across 7.0 inning complete game while striking out two and giving up eight hits. On the opposite side, Kris Corral took the loss for the Matadors despite a commendable effort that included six strikeouts and only three earned runs across seven innings.
The game started evenly with both teams scoring a run in the first inning. CSN's Ellie Olson delivered the first RBI with a timely single that brought Miken Jacobsen home. Arizona Western responded quickly, with Autumn Arriola singling to drive in Alissa Pinon, setting the tone for a closely contested matchup.
