CSN Lady Coyotes Dominate Matadors in Game Three, Advance to 11-0 in ACCAC Play

Yuma, AZ - The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes continued their dominant run in the ACCAC conference play, defeating the Arizona Western College Matadors 12-3 in a decisive game three of their series in Yuma, Arizona. With this victory, the Lady Coyotes improve to an undefeated 11-0 in conference play and 15-9 overall for the season.

From the beginning, CSN set a commanding pace. The game opened with a surge from the Lady Coyotes, as Camryn Hunkins walked and later scored on a double by Chloe Makinney, who showcased aggressive base running and advanced to third but was caught before she could score. The initial momentum was further capitalized by Destinee Lopez, who delivered a home run to put CSN ahead early.

Throughout the game, CSN's offense was relentless. The second inning saw Mattingly Mauzey and Mariela Rodriguez drive in runs, quickly expanding CSN's lead. By the top of the fifth inning, CSN had firmly taken control, amassing eight runs in a display of strategic hitting and capitalizing on AWC's errors. Key hits came from Jimena Barraza-Caro and Chloe Makinney, each collecting multiple RBIs.

London Lamb, pitching in relief for CSN, provided stability and control, allowing only two hits and no runs over 2.7 innings, securing her sixth win of the season. Her effective pitching halted any potential rallies by AWC and ensured the Lady Coyotes maintained their substantial lead.

On the other side, AWC struggled to find an answer to CSN's offensive onslaught. Starting pitcher Autumn Arriola was replaced after surrendering four runs in just under three innings. Analy Trejo, stepping in as relief, faced similar challenges, with CSN batters exploiting every opportunity to extend their lead.

The defensive effort by CSN was solid, committing only two errors in the game, which did little to hinder their performance. Meanwhile, AWC's defense faltered at critical moments, contributing to their loss with an error that extended multiple innings for CSN.

As the series nears its conclusion with one game remaining, the Lady Coyotes are poised to potentially sweep the series, a testament to their strong team dynamics and skilled execution. The Matadors, facing this challenging opponent, will need to regroup and refine their strategy to avoid a series sweep.
