HENDERSON, NV (May 3, 2025) — The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes couldn't keep pace in a high-scoring affair Saturday morning, falling 14-6 to Eastern Arizona College in game three of a four-game ACCAC series at Lady Coyote Field. With the loss, CSN drops to 25-23 overall and 17-14 in conference play.
The Gila Monsters struck early and often, plating two runs in the top of the first and maintaining steady offensive pressure throughout the game. Eastern Arizona piled up 16 hits and capitalized on three CSN errors, breaking the game wide open with a six-run sixth inning and adding three more in the seventh to seal the outcome.
CSN showed flashes of offensive promise but struggled to match Eastern Arizona's output. The Coyotes scored once in the second inning and briefly took a 4-3 lead in the third before the Gila Monsters answered with a run in the fourth and never looked back.
Eastern Arizona's T. Christensen was a force on both sides of the ball. The pitcher went the distance in the circle for the complete-game win, scattering 10 hits while allowing just two earned runs and striking out six. At the plate, she added two hits, including a pair of doubles, drove in a run, and scored four times.
Offensively, the Gila Monsters were led by M. Reed (2-for-4, 3 RBI, 2 doubles), I. Casillos (1-for-5, 3 RBI), and M. Carbonell (3-for-5, 2 RBI). Seven EAC players recorded multiple hits in a relentless lineup that batted around multiple times.
For CSN,
Chloe Makinney paced the offense, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
Ellie Olson added two hits and two RBIs, while
Chaleah Workman collected two hits, including a sacrifice fly in the third that temporarily gave CSN the lead.
Bryn Connors was tagged with the loss after allowing seven runs—five earned—on eight hits over five innings.
London Lamb worked the final two innings in relief, surrendering seven earned runs on eight hits and four walks.
Defensively, the Coyotes struggled to contain Eastern Arizona's aggression on the bases, allowing five stolen bags and committing three errors—two of which extended innings that led to big rallies.
Despite the defeat, CSN had bright moments, including a promising third inning when Olson's two-run single and Workman's sacrifice fly gave the Coyotes a 4-3 advantage. But missed opportunities and lapses in execution ultimately proved too costly.
The two teams will close out the four-game series Saturday afternoon at Lady Coyote Field.
