North Las Vegas, NV (September 6, 2025) – The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes men's soccer team opened ACCAC conference play on Saturday at the Cheyenne Sports Complex, battling but ultimately falling 4–1 to the undefeated Mohave Community College Big Horns. In front of 201 fans, CSN showed flashes of resilience but could not overcome an early three-goal deficit.
The Big Horns set the tone early, striking in the 13th minute when defender Ethan Harris buried the opening goal. Minutes later, Mohave doubled the lead as forward Alan Salgado converted a penalty kick in the 16th minute.
The Coyotes scrambled to settle into rhythm, but Mohave's attacking pressure persisted. In the 25th minute, Mauricio Velazquez extended the lead to 3–0, finishing off an assist from Salgado
Despite the deficit, CSN pushed forward after halftime. Goalkeeper
Johan Hernandez, who entered in the first half, produced two saves to keep the Coyotes within striking distance. However, Mohave added a fourth tally in the 61st minute as substitute Lazzar Ramos finished a feed from Nolan Garcia

The Coyotes finally found a breakthrough in the 71st minute when sustained pressure forced an own goal by the Big Horns, cutting the score to 4–1. CSN generated more opportunities late, including efforts from
Paul Jankowski and
Ian Martinez, but Mohave's defense and goalkeeper tandem of Pablo Saavedra and Chase Radford held firm.
The opener was marked by physical play and discipline challenges. A total of nine cards were issued—six to CSN, including a red card to
Francisco Duran-Andrade in the 64th minute. Mohave also collected two cautions. In total, the Coyotes were whistled for 12 fouls, while Mohave committed 18
