North Las Vegas, NV (September 6, 2025) – The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes opened ACCAC conference play with a gritty defensive effort on Saturday afternoon at the Cheyenne Sports Complex, battling visiting Mohave Community College to a 0–0 draw in front of a crowd of 234.
From the opening whistle, both teams fought for control in the midfield, with neither side able to break through in the final third. CSN's back line, anchored by
Kate Oliva,
Rayen Garrett, and
Monica Lopez-Torres, absorbed constant pressure as Mohave finished with 13 total shots, three on frame.
The Coyotes countered with nine shots of their own, four on goal.
Iliana Arias and Oliva provided the most dangerous looks, combining for six shots, while
Leslie Villegas and
Jadelyn Lopez-Torres each forced Mohave keeper Evelyn Montiel-Silva into saves.
Both goalkeepers were sharp in the draw. For CSN, sophomore
Madison English recorded three saves, including key stops in the 29th and 51st minutes to deny Mohave's Paola Cruz and Estephanie Montiel-Silva. At the other end, Montiel-Silva matched English with four saves, highlighted by back-to-back denials against Villegas and Oliva midway through the second half

The match featured physical stretches as both teams dug in for conference positioning. A total of six cards were issued, including four to CSN. The Lady Coyotes played the final minutes shorthanded after Garrett was shown a red card in the 86th minute. Despite the disadvantage, CSN's defense held strong to secure the point.
