Henderson, Nev. — The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes dropped their third game of the 2026 Coyote Kickoff Classic on Friday afternoon, falling 14–2 to Spoon River College at Lady Coyote Field.
CSN struck first in the opening inning as
Chloe Tepraseuth reached on a single and later scored on an RBI triple by
Haley Horst, tying the game at 1–1. However, Spoon River answered with a decisive 12-run second inning, taking control of the contest early and never relinquishing the lead.
The Snappers collected 10 hits in the second inning alone, highlighted by a grand slam from J. Krus, as Spoon River built a commanding 13–1 advantage. CSN used four pitchers in the circle as
Haylee Holloway,
Nicole Carrasco,
Brooklynn Richardson, and
Callie Averett combined to finish the game, with Averett settling things down by allowing just one run over the final three innings .
The Lady Coyotes added their second run in the bottom of the third inning.
Breya Hee reached on an error and advanced to third before scoring on a sacrifice bunt by
Jaydah Chun, trimming the deficit to 13–2 .
Offensively, CSN was limited to three hits on the afternoon. Horst recorded a triple and an RBI, while Tepraseuth and
Justice Lavin each singled for the Lady Coyotes.
Addison Seipp reached base twice via walk, and
Mariela Rodriguez was hit by a pitch as CSN continued to work counts despite the early deficit.
Spoon River added an insurance run in the fourth inning before holding CSN scoreless over the final two frames to close out the game.
The Lady Coyotes will look to rebound tomorrow morning when they face Salt Lake Community College at 9:00 a.m. as the 2026 Coyote Kickoff Classic continues. The full tournament schedule can be found at
