Henderson, Nev. — The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes continued a strong opening weekend at home, defeating Snow College 11–4 Friday morning in their second game of the 2026 Coyote Kickoff Classic at Lady Coyote Field.
CSN used a balanced offensive attack and a complete-game performance in the circle from
Haley Horst to pull away after a brief deficit, improving to 3–1 on the season. Horst went all seven innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits while striking out three to earn the win.
After Snow College tied the game at 3–3 with back-to-back home runs in the top of the third inning, the Lady Coyotes answered with a decisive four-run rally in the bottom of the fourth to regain control.
Chloe Tepraseuth delivered a key RBI single during the inning, while
Athena Tonga'onevai drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in another run. Horst followed with an RBI single as CSN capitalized on a Snow College error to take a 7–4 lead.
CSN added four more runs in the fifth inning to put the game out of reach.
Mattingly Mauzey opened the frame with a double and later scored on a wild pitch. Tepraseuth again came through with an RBI bunt single, and Horst capped the inning with a two-run single to right center, extending the Lady Coyotes' lead to 11–4.
Offensively, CSN was led by
Breya Hee, who finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.
Jimena Barraza-Caro drove in two runs, while Tepraseuth posted two hits and three RBIs. Mauzey reached base three times and scored three runs, and
Ciana Cubi added a pair of hits in the win.
Snow College scored all four of its runs via the long ball, but Horst settled in after the early surge and held the Badgers scoreless over the final three innings to secure the victory.
The Lady Coyotes will return to action later today, facing Spoon River College at 2:30 p.m. as play continues in the 2026 Coyote Kickoff Classic. The full tournament schedule is available at
