Jackson Wins Pink at the Park Invitational as CSN Cross Country Continues Strong Fall

SALINAS, Calif. — Jayden Jackson added another individual victory to his sophomore season Friday, winning the men's race at the Pink at the Park Invitational as the College of Southern Nevada men's and women's cross country teams continued their push toward the championship portion of the 2026 season.

Competing in a field filled with California community college programs, Jackson separated himself from the field and crossed the finish line first in 20:22.2.

The victory continued a strong season for Jackson, who also claimed the individual title at the season-opening Barstow CC Invitational and has consistently led the Coyotes at the front of the men's lineup.

Behind Jackson, Southern Nevada delivered one of its strongest examples of pack running this season.

Cannon Bishop finished 15th in 21:28.3, with Kyle Gwerder just three-tenths of a second behind him in 16th at 21:28.6. Jorrin Johnston followed in 18th with a time of 21:33.0, while Myles Oliver crossed in 22nd at 21:38.4.

Just 10.1 seconds separated Bishop, Gwerder, Johnston and Oliver, giving the Coyotes a tightly grouped pack behind their individual champion.

Benjamin Killebrew added a 28th-place finish in 21:54.7.

On the women's side, Sienna Maisano continued her strong sophomore campaign by leading Southern Nevada to a sixth-place team finish.

Maisano placed 11th overall in 19:46.5, narrowly missing a top-10 finish. Johnna Waldahl was the next Coyote across the line, placing 22nd in 20:26.1, while Cheyenne Dillingham finished 27th in 20:40.9.

Madison Schrade and Katie Iniguez completed CSN's scoring five with back-to-back finishes. Schrade placed 41st in 21:29.6, with Iniguez 43rd in 21:30.5. Lola DeCania followed in 54th with a time of 21:46.4.

Southern Nevada totaled 127 points to finish sixth in the women's team standings. Clovis Community College won the team title with 45 points, followed by Hartnell College with 73 and Cerritos College with 87.

The performance continued an encouraging stretch for the Coyote women. After setting a program 6K record at the Mark Covert Classic, Southern Nevada established a school record for five-runner average in the 5K at the UC Riverside Invitational before turning in another solid team performance Friday in Salinas.

For the men, Jackson's victory provided the headline, but the group immediately behind him offered another encouraging sign as Southern Nevada continues to work toward putting its strongest lineup together for the postseason.

With the regular season beginning to wind down, Southern Nevada will have two weeks before returning to California for its final scheduled meet ahead of the postseason. The Coyotes will compete at the Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17, in Riverside, California.
