HENDERSON, Nev. — Feb. 1, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada responded with a complete performance in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader, defeating Spoon River College 12–4 in six innings at Lady Coyote Field.
Spoon River scored first in the top of the opening inning, but the Lady Coyotes answered immediately. Chloe Tepraseuth connected on a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning, scoring Ciana Cubi and giving CSN a 2–1 lead.
After Spoon River pushed across three runs in the second to regain the advantage, the Lady Coyotes took control of the game in the third. Tepraseuth struck again, this time launching a three-run home run to right field to bring home Breya Hee and Jimena Barraza-Caro, putting CSN back in front at 5–4.
CSN continued to build the lead in the fourth inning. Mattingly Mauzey singled and later scored on a wild pitch, extending the Lady Coyotes' advantage to 6–4.
The Coyotes broke the game open in the fifth. Destinee Lopez delivered a two-run home run to left field, scoring Cubi and pushing the lead to four. CSN added four more runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Mauzey and an RBI walk by Ellie Leatham, sealing the run-rule victory.
In the circle, Brooklynn Richardson earned the win, working all six innings and allowing four runs while holding Spoon River scoreless over the final four frames. Offensively, Tepraseuth finished with five RBIs, while Mauzey collected three hits and drove in two runs. Barraza-Caro scored twice and stole two bases in the win.
The victory improved the Lady Coyotes to 6–3 on the season and split the Sunday doubleheader with Spoon River College.
