HENDERSON, Nev. — Feb. 20, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada dropped game one of Friday's doubleheader to the College of Southern Idaho, 11–3, at Lady Coyote Field.
Southern Idaho struck first in the opening inning, taking a 1–0 lead on an RBI single. The Lady Coyotes answered in the bottom half of the frame. After Destinee Lopez singled and Haley Horst reached on a walk, Ellie Leatham delivered a two-run single to center field, scoring both runners and giving CSN a 2–1 advantage.
Southern Idaho responded with three runs in the third inning and broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning to move ahead 9–3. CSN added its final run in the bottom of the third when Mariela Rodriguez, running for Leatham, came around to score on an infield error.
The Golden Eagles added two more runs in the fifth inning on a two-run home run to extend the lead to 11–3.
In the circle, Haylee Holloway started and took the loss, allowing four runs over 2.1 innings. Callie Averett and Brooklynn Richardson each provided relief appearances. Southern Idaho collected 14 hits in the contest.
Offensively, CSN recorded five hits. Leatham went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double, while Mattingly Mauzey added a double in relief duty in left field. Jaydah Chun reached base three times with a single and two walks.
The loss moved the Lady Coyotes to 9–6 on the season. CSN will conclude the doubleheader against Southern Idaho later today at Lady Coyote Field.
